Why Buy a Mini DV Camcorder
Mini DV is a digital format that is not expensive when compared to other camcorders on the market. Typically a Mini DV tape will cost about 4 or 5 dollars and record in the range of twice as much footage as a DVD in the same price range.
It is possible to record over a Mini DV but not possible to do so with a normal DVD-R disc. Just about any video editing application will easily transfer and edit the Mini DV format.
Mini DV camcorders are available in good price ranges under $200 all the way up to thousands of dollars. Below is a camcorder digital review:
